Improve-Your-Tennis.com Newsletter--How To Prepare Early for Your Groundstrokes
October 18, 2016
Hey

I hope you had a amazing weekend.

Over the past week, I have finished recording two video lessons. One lesson is on the two handed backhand and one lesson is on finding the correct tennis grips. These lessons are very basic because I observed that many tennis players got their basics wrong and really need to clean up the bad habits.

Well, I'll publish them real soon after my editor finished the editing job for me. Really excited to share new content with you.

US Open 2016

I would like to congratulate the German tennis star, Angelique Kerber, for cliniching the world number one ranking! She backed up her status as the new world number one with a thrilling win over Czech Karolina Pliskova in the US Open final. What an amazing run!

Over at the men's side, Stan The Man Wawrinka is the man! Congratulations to him for winning the men's final. He beat Novak Djokovic 6-7 6-4 7-5 6-3 to clinch the championship in 4 sets.

Wawrinka is well known for his one handed backhand. His backhand down the line shot certainly caused plenty of damages to his opponents.

I also want to highlight another weapon of his, i.e. his blistering forehand. He can rip cross court, down the line and inside out with so much power. I love to see how he transfers his weight to his forehand, especially his cross court forehand shots. Simply beautiful.

Alright, let's get into some awesome content!

==> How To Prepare Early for Your Groundstrokes So That You Can Hit With More Consistency

Many players tend to make the mistake of preparing the backswing only when the ball bounces in their court. I think this is due to the inexperience of players who don’t anticipate where the ball is going. They often wait for the ball to bounce and then ‘confirm’ that the ball is going to their forehand or backhand. Preparing the backswing only when the ball bounces in your court is too late. You will jam up the body and be unable to hit the ball cleanly.

So in this video lesson, I am going to show you the correct ways to prepare for your ground strokes and 2 drills that you can use to correct the mistakes.
